Many equipment's and software's were used in order to carry out the project of making a trailer for a soap opera.
This was used during our pre-production, we looked at different types of soap trailers. This was to give us a better understanding of what goes into a trailer to make it successful. For example we had a look at Emmerdale's trailer 'Judgement Day', we looked at the camera shots and how the main character introduced the other characters in the show as he walked down the street. We also looked at the templates and format that was used in trailers such as Hollyoaks to explain some of the scenes. This was incorporated in our final production of our soap opera.
The use of Photoshop in the magazine trailer has made me gain significant knowledge and experience. By looking into the conventions of a typical TV listings magazine, I have applied such conventions, like the use of bright colours and short gossipy captions, to enhance the authenticity of my TV listings magazine cover by matching those which stick to convention. With these features I was able to gain knowledge regarding techniques like layering images and shapes amongst each other to enhance the aesthetic value of my product.
The use of Imovie was by far the most significant software used in creating our media production. Imovie enabled us to put together our soap thriller, we were able to create sinistic sound to create suspense and tension. Having looked at various other soap trailers we wanted to incorporate the use of text to break scenes and help give a clear understanding of what was happening, so by using imovie we were able edit our soap and incorporate this into our scene.
The technologies used to when shooting our soap trailer was an SLR camera, Tripod and camcorder. The use of SLR camera enabled us to take effective and sharp shots of the scenes in our soap trailer. We used a tripod to steady our shots, this can be seen in our soap.
